Congratulations Whitney and Derek!

Whitney Ann Hatfield and Derek Allen Hoefer will meet at the altar of St. John’s United Methodist Church on June 7th to exchange vows. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sarah Smull Hatfield and Victoria McVicker of  Aurora, Colorado, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Grant Hatfield of Our Town. Whitney is the granddaughter of Jane Smull of Overland Park and the late Dr. Ned Smull and Nancy Laubach of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Dr. Grant Hatfield of Our Town. Whitney is a graduate of Notre Dame de Sion High School. She was a Jewel Ball debutante in 2008, and is a BOTAR, class of 2011. Whitney earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing from The University of Kansas, and is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is careering with PlattForm in Lenexa. 

Her groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Allan Hoefer of Prairie Village. Derek is the grandson of Mr. Howard Mick of Leawood and the late Mrs. Mick and Mrs. Donald Hoefer of Overland Park and the late Mr. Hoefer. Derek is a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications from The University of Kansas, and is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. Derek was a BOTAR escort in 2011. He is employed by American Fidelity.
