Lauri Burpee Jones of Mission Hills, Kansas, and Mr. Laurence Russell Jones III of Corpus Christi, Texas, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Abbey Elizabeth Jones, to Jordan Michael Schmidt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley John Schmidt of Overland Park, Kansas. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Phillip Burpee of Portland, Oregon, and Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Russell Jones, Jr. of Mission Hills. Abbey is a graduate of Notre Dame de Sion High School. She was a Jewel Ball debutante in 2013 and is a BOTAR, class of 2017. Abbey earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Gonzaga University. She is employed with The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas. 

Her groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Robert William Tully of Olathe, Kansas, and the late Mr. Tully, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jerome Schmidt. Jordan is a graduate of Olathe East High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a master of business administration degree from The University of Kansas. A member of Delta Chi fraternity, Jordan is employed with SPX Cooling Technologies in Overland Park. Theirs will be a September 17th wedding at The Kansas City Country Club.
