National World War I Museum and Memorial – In Sacrifice for Liberty and Peace

On April 6th, dignitaries from more than 25 countries traveled to Our Town to witness In Sacrifice for Liberty and Peace: Centennial Commemoration of the U.S. Entry into World War I  at the National World War I Museum and Memorial.

Representatives of nations who fought against the United States or under whose flags the U.S. fought in WWI: Dr. Andrew Murrison, MP, United Kingdom Prime Minister’s special representative for the First World War Centenary; Ambassador Armando Varricchio, Ambassador of Italy to the U.S.; Ambassador Dr. Réka Szermerkényi, Ambassador of Hungary to the U.S.; Ambassador Gérard Araud, Ambassador of France to the U.S.; Consul General Khawar Nasim, Consul General of Canada; Ambassador Dirk Wouters, Ambassador of Belgium to the U.S.; Ambassador Dr. Wolfgang Waldner, Ambassador of Austria to the U.S.; and Group Captain Peter Davis, Assistant Defence Attaché, Defence Chief of Staff Embassy of Australia to the U.S.
