KC Pet Project

Mayor Sly James, City Manager Troy Schulte, the Kansas City, Missouri, Parks Department, City Council members, and honored guests recently announced the City of Kansas City, Missouri’s intention to build a new shelter for the animals of Our Town. The current shelter, operated by KC Pet Project, was built in 1972 and has been considered too small and outdated for many years. The new facility, a dream of Adele Hall’s, will have more than 60,000 square feet of space on 10 acres of land in Swope Park. KC Pet Project is the largest No Kill animal shelter in Kansas City and cares for more than 10,000 animals each year.
