2025 Class of Rising Stars Nomination Form

The Independent invites you to nominate an individual making a difference in Kansas City for our 2025 Class of Rising Stars.

Deadline to submit nomination packets: November 15, 2024. Nominations will not be accepted after this date.

No age restriction.

While we applaud the great work of non-profit employees, please do not nominate someone based on his/her work as an employee. To nominate an employee of a non-profit organization, the nomination must be based on other volunteer work in the community, not on the person’s role as an employee.

Nominee Achievements
Describe the nominee's fundraising and volunteer experience by citing examples of work with at least three different Kansas City non-profit organizations.*
Cite specific examples of the nominee’s leadership skills in the non-profit sector and evidence that the individual improves the quality of life for others in our community.*
Please list recent awards, news articles and previous honors for your nominee.
• Please submit at least three, but no more than five, letters of recommendation from additional supporters for your nominee.
• These letters should be submitted by representatives of at least three different organizations.
• Please do not include a recommendation letter from anyone at the same organization that is submitting this nomination packet. (For example, if Apple Organization fills out the nomination form above for John Smith, none of the recommendation letters for John Smith should be written by anyone at Apple Organization.)
• Nomination packets will not be considered without these letters.
• Recommendation letters must include the name, email, phone, and address for the person writing the recommendation letters.
