Congratulations, Sydney & Josh!
Mr. and Mrs. Steven B. Glassman of Our Town and Dr. and Mrs. Stephen L. Stoops of Orlando, Florida, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Sydney Lear Stoops, to Joshua Andrew Bruner, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Lewis Bruner of Hickory, North Carolina. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Yancey Eubank of Leawood and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Stoops. Sydney is a graduate of The Pembroke Hill School. She was a Jewel Ball debutante in 2004. Sydney earned a bachelor of arts degree in microbiology from Miami University and a doctor of philosophy in pharmacology from Vanderbilt University. She is a member of Chi Omega sorority. Sydney is a staff scientist with MRIGlobal.
Her groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Combs, Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Reuben Bruner. Josh is a graduate of Saint Stephens High School in Hickory, North Carolina. He earned dual bachelor of science degrees in chemistry and polymer and color chemistry from North Carolina State University and a master of science degree in chemistry from Vanderbilt University. Josh is employed with Morgan Stanley. Theirs will be an October 17th wedding at Mission Hills Country Club.
