Dr. Nicole Alexandra Hefner and John Kennedy Goodwin, Jr. will meet at the altar of St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago, Illinois, this August to exchange vows. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Drs. Denise and George Hefner of Lincolnshire, Illinois, and she is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Peter Verges and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardt Hefner. Her groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kennedy Goodwin, Sr. of Our Town. Johnny is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mack Vail Colt and Mrs. Frederick Merry Goodwin, Jr. and the late Mr. Goodwin. 

Nicole graduated from Carmel Catholic High School and Vanderbilt University with a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry. She is a member of Sigma Phi Lambda sorority. Nicole earned a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Johnny graduated from Kansas City Christian School and The University of Texas with a bachelor of arts degrees in government and humanities from the Liberal Arts Honors Program. He was a Gentleman of The Jewel Ball and an escort in 2016. Nicole is employed as an internal medicine resident at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Johnny is employed as an associate growth investor at Kayne Anderson in Los Angeles, California.
