Congratulations, Laura & Daniel!
Deborah Smith and Dr. Mark Myron of Our Town are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Elizabeth Myron, to Daniel Marx McCarthy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George McCarthy of Highland Park, New Jersey. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Edward Smith of Kansas City and the late Mr. Smith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Myron. Laura is a graduate of The Pembroke Hill School. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and Spanish from Yale University and a juris doctor from Harvard Law School. Laura was presented at The Jewel Ball in 2004. She is currently employed with the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Charlottesville, Virginia, until July. Afterward, Laura will be a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General at the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
Her groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. George McCarthy of Bayonne, New Jersey, and the late Mrs. McCarthy and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marx. Dan is a graduate of Highland Park High School in Highland Park, New Jersey. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and economics from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in business administration from George Washington University. Dan is employed with the United States Senate. Theirs will be a September 6th wedding at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
