Mr. and Mrs. Robert George Planer, Jr., of Rumson, New Jersey, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kerry Christine Planer, to Robert Vanneman Spake, Jr., the son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Vanneman Spake of Our Town. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William John Sliney and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert George Planer. Kerry is a graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School in Rumson, New Jersey. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degre e from Colgate University. Kerry earned her juris doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

Her groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee McFadin and the late Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne B. Spake, Jr. Bob is a graduate of The Pembroke Hill School and was a Jewel Ball Floor Committee member in 2000. He graduated summa cum laude from Washington and Lee University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. Bob earned his juris doctorate from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he was on the Law Review and is a member of the Order of the Coif. He is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and is careering with Polsinelli Shughart. Theirs will be a September 21st wedding at the Church of the Precious Blood in Monmouth Beach, New Jersey.
