Congratulations, Katie & Trip!

Darcy Ann Howe and Mr. John Sheldon Black of Our Town are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Anne Black, to William Thomas Mullen III, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph John Mullen, of Charlottesville, Virginia. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Overlock Howe and the late Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Paul West Black. Katie is a graduate of The Pembroke Hill School. She was a Jewel Ball debutante in 2007. Katie earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science from The George Washington University. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and careers with Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, D.C. 

Her groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Edward Wray Thomas, Jr. of Palmyra, Virginia, and the late Mr. Thomas and Mr. William Thomas Mullen, Jr.  of Crozet, Virginia, and the late Mrs. Mullen. Trip is a graduate of Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, Virginia. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of Virginia. Trip is a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and is employed with Trident Maritime Systems in Washington, D.C. Theirs will be an August 20th wedding at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church.
