Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Kenneth Walkup of Overland Park are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Elise Walkup, to Kevin Gallagher Ring, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Kevin Francis Ring of Mission Hills. Emily is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cassius O. Miller, Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Walkup. She is a graduate of Notre Dame de Sion High School. Emily graduated summa cum laude from Creighton University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting and management. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and is careering with BKD in Denver, Colorado. 

Her groom elect is the grandson of Mrs. Frederick W. Moen of Lenexa, Kansas, and the late Mr. Moen and the late Mr. and Mrs. Vincent M. Ring. Gallagher is a graduate of Rockhurst High School. He was an escort in the Junior League of Wyandotte and Johnson Counties Community Ball and Cotillion in 2005. Gallagher received a bachelor of science degree in business and finance from The University of Kansas. He is a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, and is employed by UMB Bank in Denver. Theirs will be a December 28th wedding at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
