Congratulations, Cat & Brent!
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Selby Ward of Mission Hills, Kansas, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine Selby Ward, to Brent Anthony Carothers, the son of Elizabeth Viola Carothers of Bel Air, Maryland, and Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Carothers II of Baltimore, Maryland. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Page Barnes of Mission Hills and Mrs. Louis Larrick Ward of Kansas City, Missouri, and the late Mr. Ward. Cat is a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School. She was a Jewel Ball debutante in 2009. Cat earned a bachelor of arts degree in the history of art from The University of Kansas and a master of fine arts degree in interior design from the New York School of Interior Design. A member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, she is employed with WeWork in New York, New York.
Her groom-elect is the grandson of the late Florence Elizabeth Grzechowiak, Sandra Susan Dabrowski of Perry Hall, Maryland, the late Mr. and Mrs. George J. Halvonik, and the late Dr. John Richard Carothers. Brent is a graduate of Calvert Hall College High School in Baltimore, Maryland. He received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Roanoke College. A member of Sigma Chi fraternity, Brent is employed with Vimeo in New York, New York. Theirs will be an August 25th wedding at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City.
