Chris Allen
We are delighted to report that Our Town’s Chris Allen, the great grandson of basketball legend Phog Allen; wrote and released his first album recently. Chris moved out to Los Angeles five years ago to pursue his music career. Now, he has not only completed an album, but he co-runs a recording studio in Culver City, California, called Studio-Rev.
Chris is a graduate of The Pembroke Hill School and The University of Kansas. He did not start playing guitar until his junior year of high school, but he found that he had a natural talent for it. In college, he joined a band called Free Reign and sang with an a capella group. Chris’s eclectic taste in music is translated into his album, Candour, which features 12 songs in a variety of styles that mix Southern rock, alternative, classic and 70s rock, and pop. Chris finds inspiration from artists such as Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, and Pink Floyd. You can sample Chris’s songs online at www.reverbnation.com/chrisjallen (be sure to listen to our favorite, Northern Star). His record is available on iTunes, and CDs can be found in stores around KayCee. To contact Chris, email him at chrisallencandour@gmail.com.
