Jason Souter recently took a sabbatical from his job as a project manager at Cerner Corporation, which included spending seven days at Ronald McDonald House Charities – Kansas City, stocking linen closets and organizing storage areas and toys. He and his daughter, Jayden, had spent more than 100 nights there after she was diagnosed with a rare form of Wilms cancer. After seeing the grateful looks on other parents’ faces, he also realized that they, too, had a home away from the hospital where they could relax. Jason has started a charity in Jayden’s memory called BabyJay’s Legacy of Hope, providing support for children and their families during their battle with cancer.
