The Faces of Gordon Parks
On November 9th, Gordon Parks Elementary School will honor its namesake on what would have been his 100th birthday at the historic Gem Theater. The “many faces” of Gordon Parks will include his work with Life Magazine, the mainstream Hollywood film,The Learning Tree; and Essence Magazine. Dorothy and Bill Curry are the honorary chairmen, and Dr. Bernard Franklin will serve as the event chairman.
