ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Reservation Details

Families can submit both an engagement announcement and a wedding announcement to be published in The Independent. We recommend that you contact Anne Potter Russ at anne@kcindependent.com as soon as possible for reservation details.

Please submit three photographs with your announcement information. One photograph will be used in the magazine and two will be used online. Photographs should be formal candids and portraits. A digital photograph must be 300 dpi or larger and 5x7 in size. Please email your photos to Anne Potter Russ at Anne@kcindependent.com or send them to 2400 W. 75th St. #120 Prairie Village, KS 66208. If you would like to have the photo(s) returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

For the magazine engagement photo, men should be in a coat or a coat and tie and women must be dressed accordingly. NO PHOTOS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH THE ENGAGED COUPLE IN DENIM OR A STRAPLESS DRESS OR BLOUSE. The additional two photos for the website feature can be more casual.*

Payment Details

The total cost for an engagement announcement is $300 for a subscriber. This $300 fee will reserve both the engagement and the wedding announcement for the same couple. For all others the fee is $400, and includes a one-year subscription to The Independent. This $400 fee will reserve both the engagement and the wedding announcement for the same couple.
